We want to make sure that the process of getting your Standard 10DLC Registration is quick and simple. To help with this, we have compiled a list of carrier tips that you can use to ensure that your account is registered quickly, and you'll be ready to start taking advantage of our services in no time.

The carrier's current verification process typically takes 10+ business days. To expedite this process, it is crucial to adhere to our best practices and ensure that all submitted information is accurate and meets the carriers' requirements.

During the vetting period, our Success Team Astronauts will offer onboarding training and conduct Launch Control best practices strategy sessions. These efforts aim to equip you with the necessary skills to maximize the potential of our platform once the verification process concludes.

You may find the 10DLC Registration best practices listed below:

EIN Information Accuracy

Ensure that the Employer Identification Number (EIN), the business name, and the brand name (if applicable) are all identical to what is registered with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). We suggest checking the official IRS letter (Form: SS-4 notice) ( prior to submitting the registration form.)

Registration Information Consistency

  • To ensure the accuracy of each registration form, it is important that the information provided is the same as IRS records. This helps to ensure that there are no discrepancies or inaccuracies between the two during processing.

  • The Use Case of the messaging needs to match the website content.

For example, if the use case is Real Estate and the website content is about Loan Agreement, the registration will likely be declined.

  • The Business Name/Brand Name that you entered in the registration form must match the one listed on your Website.

  • The contact information that the user has provided on the registration form needs to be the same as the contact information listed on their web page.

Consistency in the brand’s name & website

Maintaining consistency between your brand's name and its online presence is a crucial aspect of compliance, especially when it comes to registering for 10DLC (10-Digit Long Code) services in the USA.

When you're setting up a campaign or registering your brand for 10DLC services, it's essential that there's a direct correlation between your brand's name and its official website.

For instance, if your business operates under the name "ABC" and your official website is registered as "abc.com," any deviation from this alignment could lead to complications.

A common mistake some businesses make is registering a different domain name for their campaign, such as "xyz.com," which can result in the rejection of their 10DLC registration. The underlying principle is straightforward: the name of your brand and the domain of your website should match to avoid confusion and ensure authenticity.

Another critical aspect of the 10DLC registration process involves the email address used for registration purposes. Utilizing personal email accounts is generally frowned upon and can lead to the rejection of your application. While there are exceptions to this rule, it is strongly recommended to use an email address that matches the domain of your registered website. This not only adds a layer of professionalism but also helps in establishing a clear link between your email communications and your brand.

Compliance with US carrier requirements

In order for your registration to be accepted, it's important that the content and use case meet the terms of conduct of the carrier.

Here are a couple of examples of content messaging that is not authorized under the standard 10DLC Messaging standards:

  • Lead generation and affiliate marketing

  • High-risk financial services

  • Sole Proprietor registrations are currently not being accepted.

  • Prohibited content not authorized by the 10DLC Registration also includes the following:

    • Cannabis

    • Guns/Ammo

    • Explicit sexual content

    • Gambling

    • Hate language

    • Alcohol & Tobacco

A Working Functional Website

To adhere to the latest carrier requirements, it is essential to have a functional and valid website when submitting your registration information. The website should have, at a minimum, the following items:

  1. "About the Company" section or page - This page should provide a comprehensive overview of your business operations, offering valuable insights into your company. It is crucial to avoid using overly generic AI-generated content to minimize the risk of carrier rejections. By including authentic and relevant information, you can enhance the credibility of your business and establish a stronger connection with your audience.

*It's advisable to steer clear of overly generic AI-generated content in the 'About the Company' section to prevent carrier rejections.

  1. A Compliant Privacy Policy page with Messaging Privacy Policy sections

  2. A Compliant Terms & Conditions (Terms of Use) page with Messaging Terms & Conditions

  3. Include a Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions agreement checkbox in the data capture/collection section (Contact Us page/form/section), with a proper opt-in consent disclaimer placed in a visible place on the section, beneath the checkbox. Additionally, make sure a phone number input field is placed in the data capture/collection section, for visitors to enter their phone number.

Since lead generation is not supported by the Standard 10DLC Registration, make sure your website's Privacy Policy does not entail sharing the collected information with third parties.

In case your business does not have a valid working website, you're now able to use AI features to create a website quickly & free of charge. One such website builders is https://www.getresponse.com/.

"About the Company" section or page

Creating a compelling "About the Company" section or page on your website is a fundamental step towards fulfilling compliance requirements and presenting your business effectively online. This dedicated page serves as an opportunity to introduce your company to visitors, providing a detailed account of what your business does, its mission, values, and the services or products it offers.

The importance of crafting original, authentic content for this page cannot be overstated. Relying on generic, AI-generated text can lead to issues such as carrier rejections, as it lacks the personal touch and specificity that makes your business unique. Instead, focus on creating content that truly represents your company's identity and operations. This approach not only aids in compliance but also significantly boosts the credibility of your business.

By sharing genuine insights and stories about your company, you foster a deeper connection with your audience. This connection is crucial for building trust and establishing a loyal customer base. Remember, the "About the Company" page is more than just a compliance checkbox; it's an opportunity to showcase the heart and soul of your business, making it an essential component of your website's structure.

Compliant Privacy Policy page with Messaging Privacy Policy sections

To comply with carrier requirements, it is essential to update your website with a privacy policy that meets regulatory requirements. Ensure there is a clearly visible and easily accessible link to this policy on your homepage. This practice not only promotes transparency but also demonstrates your commitment to adhering to industry regulations and safeguarding user data.

Ensure that your privacy policy includes a "Data Security" disclaimer, explicitly stating that there will be no sharing of personally identifiable information with third parties or affiliates for re-marketing purposes. One of the most common reasons for rejection is the absence of this disclaimer.

We've provided a sample privacy policy to help you get started -> Sample Privacy Policy for 10DLC

This sample privacy policy serves as a starting point, covering all the necessary disclaimers to adhere to the compliance requirements.

Please note that the sample is not intended as legal advice. It is crucial to engage with your legal counsel to develop a privacy policy that complies with the laws relevant to your specific circumstances.

Compliant Terms & Conditions (Terms of Use) page with Messaging Terms & Conditions

To follow the rules for 10DLC, it's important to have an easy-to-find Terms & Conditions page.

This page should include important details like:

  • Program (Brand) Name

  • Product Description

  • Message Frequency Disclosure

  • Message and Data Rates May apply

  • Customer Care Contact Information (email or toll-free number)

  • Opt-Out Instructions (Reply STOP to opt-out)

Make sure there's a clearly visible link to these terms on your website's homepage. This helps show you're open about how things work and helps people understand the rules for using your service.

A sample Messaging Terms & Conditions document is included to assist you -> Sample Terms and Conditions for 10DLC.

Adding a PP and T&C agreement Checkbox & Consent disclaimer to the data collection section of the website

To prevent carrier rejection, it is essential to include a proper PP and T&C agreement checkbox consent checkbox and disclaimer.

Additionally, ensure there is an input field in the data collection area that allows website visitors to voluntarily provide their phone numbers.

Here's an example of that should look like:

When setting up the agreement consent checkbox, ensure that it includes hyperlinks to both the Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions pages.

Once you’ve completed that, please make sure to place the proper opt-in consent disclaimer on a visible place on your data collection section - Please note that the agreement checkbox needs to be located in the data collection part of your website, usually on the Contact Us/Sign Up forms of the website.

Additionally, please make sure to add the hyperlink to the privacy policy page in the disclaimer.

Here’s an example of how that should look like (feel free to copy and paste it on your data collection section):

By submitting the contact form and signing up for texts, you consent to receive marketing text messages from COMPANY NAME at the number provided. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying STOP. Text HELP to get help. Please read our Privacy Policy for more details.
